Job summary

Whitaker Construction in the United States is seeking a Concrete Finisher to ensure smooth, high-quality concrete surfaces on our heavy civil and underground utility projects. You will set forms, spread and finish concrete, monitor curing, and coordinate casting activities with the construction team on a safety-focused jobsite.

This role requires a minimum of 3 years of concrete finishing experience, a high school diploma or equivalent, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• 3 years of concrete finishing experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High school diploma or GED preferred; vocational training encouraged.
• Strong safety awareness and teamwork.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

• Set forms that hold concrete to the desired pitch, depth and alignment.
• Spread, level, and smooth concrete using hand or power tools.
• Monitor curing and adjust procedures for weather impacts.
• Direct casting of concrete and supervise laborers using shovels or trowels.
• Produce a rough surface with broom and finish edges and joints.
• Signal equipment operators to position trucks and pour concrete.
• Apply curing compounds and sealers to finish surfaces.
• Operate power vibrator to compact concrete.
• Repair damaged areas by chipping, scraping, or grinding high spots.
