Job summary

American Engineering Testing Inc is seeking a Senior Concrete Engineer in Saint Paul, MN. You will lead multiple concrete projects, mentor junior staff, and drive QA/QC oversight while interfacing directly with clients and contractors.

Responsibilities include developing testing protocols, performing advanced concrete analyses, and guiding technical reports. You will also contribute to strategic advances and safety culture within the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Materials Science with a concrete focus.
• PE licensure required; 8+ years in concrete engineering.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Advanced proficiency with concrete design software and modeling tools.

Responsibilities

• Plan, manage, and execute multiple concrete projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Develop project scopes, testing protocols, and project-specific recommendations for complex concrete applications.
• Conduct risk assessments and mitigation strategies for technical and logistical challenges.
• Perform analyses of concrete properties (creep, fatigue, thermal behavior, ASR).
• Design and evaluate high-performance concrete mixes for unique applications.
• Lead forensic investigations of concrete failures and develop corrective measures.
• Review and approve technical reports and design documents.
• Serve as primary technical contact for clients and deliver clear recommendations.
• Provide mentorship and technical oversight to junior engineers.
• Integrate emerging technologies (digital twin, AI-based optimization) into workflows.
• Promote safety and quality compliance with standards and regulations.
