Job summary

Daybreak Game Company LLC is seeking a visionary Senior Concept Artist / 2D Artist for our Dimensional Ink Games studio in Austin, TX, with remote options for approved locations. You will bridge comics and games, shaping characters, environments, and key art for DC Universe Online.

Collaborate with art directors and design teams, mentor junior artists, and contribute to promotional visuals and UI assets. Requires 5+ years in game art and shipped AAA or live-service titles.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience as a Concept Artist/2D Artist in the video game industry with at least one shipped AAA or live-service title.
• Deep understanding of anatomical proportions, dynamic posing, dramatic lighting, and graphic storytelling for superhero comics.
• Proficiency in Photoshop and Procreate; familiarity with 3D block-out pipelines (Blender, ZBrush) to aid 2D work.
• Versatility across genres from sci-fi to urban environments and stylized creature design.
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills with internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Visualize production-ready character turnarounds, costumes, weapon concepts, and environments.
• Define style and tone that align with DC Universe Online's visual identity.
• Support the 3D pipeline with orthographic callouts, texture breakdowns, and lighting keys.
• Collaborate with Designers and Animators to ensure concepts meet gameplay and engine constraints.
• Mentor junior and mid-level artists to maintain visual quality across the team.
• Create promotional illustrations, loading screens, and UI assets when needed.
