Blue Origin is seeking a Senior COMSEC Systems Engineer to secure communications across national security programs. You will work with Cybersecurity, Software, and Hardware engineers to implement COMSEC solutions and maintain system documentation.

The role requires 10+ years in COMSEC or related fields, DoD/NNSA familiarity, and an active Top Secret clearance. You'll contribute to risk assessments, verification plans, and lifecycle management within a safety‑driven culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in COMSEC, Cybersecurity, or Network Systems Engineering.
• Strong understanding of secure communications devices and integration.
• Knowledge of cryptographic principles and key management.
• Familiarity with DoD COMSEC policies, NSA guidelines, and regulations.
• Experience applying systems engineering principles and processes.
• Experience supporting requirements development, decomposition, and verification.
• Ability to read and review electrical circuit schematics.
• Ability to work across engineering disciplines.
• Active Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Support design, development, and integration of COMSEC systems across Blue National Security programs.
• Collaborate with Cybersecurity, Software, and Hardware Engineers to ensure secure architectures meet requirements.
• Develop and maintain COMSEC documentation, policies, procedures, and specs.
• Create and maintain V&V plans, RVTM, and test plans; coordinate activities across teams.
• Assess communications security risks and contribute to mitigation strategies.
• Assist lifecycle management of COMSEC equipment and keying material.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and government directives related to COMSEC and Cybersecurity.
