Job summary

Chipton-Ross seeks a Computer Systems Engineer to support development and integration of space payload emulators in El Segundo, CA. The role centers on hands-on hardware/software development for embedded Xilinx SoC/FPGA platforms and front-end UI/UX control interfaces.

Ideal candidates will work closely with hardware, firmware, software, and test engineers to bring up hardware, integrate software/logic, and build intuitive emulator interfaces in a lab setting.

Qualifications

• 5-9 years of professional experience in embedded hardware/software development and integration.
• Hands-on experience with Xilinx SoC/MPSoC architectures (Zynq UltraScale+, Versal).
• Proficiency with Xilinx design tools (Vivado, Vitis, PetaLinux, SDK).
• Experience with PS/PL integration, embedded Linux/RTOS, and board bring-up.
• Frontend GUI development using Java (JavaFX/Swing) or JavaScript (React, Vue, Angular, Electron).
• Strong lab troubleshooting with oscilloscopes, DMMs, and JTAG debuggers.

Responsibilities

• Develop and integrate embedded software and firmware on Xilinx platforms (Zynq UltraScale+, Versal).
• Implement PS/PL interfaces, AXI interconnects, and memory maps.
• Develop BSPs, PetaLinux, device drivers, and low-level communications (PCIe, Ethernet, SPI, I2C, UART).
• Lead hands-on bring-up, lab integration, and system-level debugging in a lab environment.
