Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Software Engineer to design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality and instance management across the Akamai Connected Cloud.

You will develop core platform services and APIs, work with QEMU, Linux systems, and hardware teams, and mentor junior staff. Join a collaborative team with rapid development cycles, open communication, and a focus on high-density compute systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience with cloud compute virtualization technologies (KVM, QEMU).
• Working knowledge of web apps, microservices, RESTful APIs and databases.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor integration.
• Develop core platform services, resource orchestration tools, and compute APIs.
• Review, document, and test high quality code with your team.
• Collaborate with global teams to build features and resolve issues.
• Mentor junior engineers on infrastructure initiatives.
