Job summary

Akamai Technologies, Inc. is seeking a Senior II Software Engineer to design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality, with hypervisor integration and instance management across ACC.

You will develop core services and APIs using Python, Go, or compiled languages, while collaborating with global teams on new features and bug fixes. You will work closely with QEMU, Linux systems, and hardware teams, contributing to high-density compute systems and distributed Linux environments.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or its equivalent.
• Experience with full software development life cycle, code reviews, release management and support.
• Proficient in Python, Go, C/C++, or Rust; experience with cloud compute virtualization technologies.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor integration.
• Develop low-level platform services, resource orchestration tools, and compute APIs.
• Collaborate across teams to design, review, and test high quality code.
• Coordinate with global teams to add new features or fix bugs.
• Mentor junior team members on infrastructure initiatives.
