Job summary

Join Akamai Technologies, Inc. on the Compute team to design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality, hypervisor integration, and instance management across the Akamai Connected Cloud. You will work with QEMU, Linux systems, and hardware teams to drive native ARM and x86 compute.

You will develop core compute interfaces and platform services using Python, Go, C/C++, or Rust, and mentor teammates while coordinating with global groups for new features.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
• Experience across the full software development life cycle.
• Proficiency in Python, Go, C/C++, or Rust.
• Experience with cloud compute virtualization tech (KVM/QEMU).
• Knowledge of container runtimes and Linux system APIs.
• Experience with web apps, microservices, RESTful APIs, and DB design.

Responsibilities

• Design and scale ARM64 compute platform functionality and hypervisor integration.
• Develop low-level platform services, orchestration tools, and compute APIs.
• Write, review, document, and test high quality code with your team.
• Collaborate with peers and global teams to add features or fix bugs.
• Mentor junior engineers on infrastructure initiatives.
