Job summary

The University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas seeks a Computational Biologist I to support genomic data analysis within the Chahrour Lab. You will work with PI to apply computational methods to large-scale datasets, develop software, and maintain research computing infrastructure.

Applicants should have strong Python and R skills, experience with high-throughput sequencing data, and familiarity with bioinformatics tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with high-throughput sequencing data processing and QC.
• Familiarity with bioinformatics tools and version control.

Responsibilities

• Manage research computing hardware and software for the lab.
• Perform complex data analysis using specialized methodologies.
• Develop/modify software to support research projects.
• Resolve hardware, software, and network issues.
• Develop and maintain databases for research projects.
• Train lab staff on research systems.
• May specialize in bioinformatics, software development, or hardware maintenance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
