Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience in enterprise ecommerce.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Senior Salesforce Commerce Cloud Technical Architect Lead the Architecture Behind Modern Ecommerce

We're seeking an experienced Senior Technical Architect to lead the design, architecture, and technical strategy of enterprise ecommerce solutions built on Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). This is a high-impact leadership opportunity for someone who combines deep SFCC expertise with strategic architectural vision and hands-on technical guidance.

You’ll collaborate with Product, Engineering, UX, and business stakeholders to modernize digital commerce platforms, improve performance, and deliver scalable customer experiences across web, mobile, and backend systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead architecture, solution design, and technical strategy for Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) and related digital platforms.
• Define architectural standards, development best practices, and integration strategies across ecommerce applications.
• Design and oversee integrations between SFCC and enterprise systems, including OMS, CRM, WMS, inventory, payments, and tax services.
• Drive modernization initiatives using API-first, headless commerce, microservices, SCAPI, OCAPI, and backend-for-frontend (BFF) architectures.
• Partner with Product, UX, Engineering, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable technical solutions.
• Provide technical leadership, architecture reviews, and mentorship to development teams.
• Lead initiatives to improve ecommerce performance, scalability, security, and site reliability.
• Oversee third‑party integrations involving search, analytics, marketing, and personalization platforms.
• Support ecommerce capabilities including Buy Online, Pick Up in Store (BOPIS), Ship-from-Store, and delivery services.
• Ensure solutions align with PCI, SOX, security, and audit requirements.

Required Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, with significant expertise in enterprise ecommerce platforms.
• Proven experience architecting and implementing Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC) solutions.
• Strong knowledge of SFCC Storefront Reference Architecture (SFRA), OCAPI, and SCAPI.
• Deep understanding of ecommerce architecture, integrations, and microservices-based solutions.
• Experience integrating SFCC with enterprise platforms such as OMS, CRM, inventory management, and payment systems.
• Experience with cloud platforms and backend-for-frontend (BFF) architecture.
• Strong understanding of ecommerce functionality, including catalog, pricing, promotions, and checkout.
• Experience with performance optimization, scalability, and production site stability.
• Proven ability to lead technical design, establish architectural standards, and guide engineering teams.
• Strong communication, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Experience with headless commerce and Progressive Web App (PWA) architectures.
• Knowledge of JavaScript, React, Node.js, and HTML5.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Bitbucket, and modern development workflows.
• Experience integrating third‑party payment gateways, tax providers, search, analytics, and personalization tools.
• Experience supporting omnichannel retail capabilities such as BOPIS and Ship-from-Store.
• Experience mentoring developers and improving engineering standards across multiple teams.
