Job summary

Curtiss-Wright Corporation in Santa Clarita, CA is seeking a Lead Components Engineer to act as a technical authority for sourcing, evaluating, and qualifying complex electronic components. You will drive cost, quality and reliability improvements and guide cross-functional teams in component selection and vendor capability assessment.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and 8–12+ years of related experience, with strong vendor-management and leadership abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical discipline.
• 8–12+ years of experience in component engineering or related hardware functions.
• Expertise in sourcing, qualification, reliability evaluation, obsolescence management and supplier assessments.

Responsibilities

• Leads sourcing, selection, qualification and lifecycle management of complex electronic components used across company products (25%).
• Evaluates alternative technologies and suppliers to reduce cost, improve quality and reliability, and mitigate obsolescence risks (20%).
• Interfaces with suppliers and internal engineering teams to resolve component issues and identify new sources (20%).
• Develops and maintains guidelines, procedures, and standards for vendor selection and component qualification (20%).
• Oversees maintenance of component data management systems, including qualification records and approval workflows (15%).
