Job summary

Magna Electronics is seeking a Technical Lead / Component Development Engineer to support radar, powertrain, and electrification product areas. You will coordinate with internal teams, suppliers, and project teams on component sourcing, development, and PPAP processes.

The role requires knowledge of semiconductor technologies, an electrical engineering background, and over 3 years of experience in electronics for automotive applications. International travel may be required.

Qualifications

Engineering degree in Electrical Engineering.
Greater than 3 years’ experience in electronics or automotive development.
Experience with semiconductor components and automotive supplier collaboration.

Responsibilities

Work with Magna Project Teams to translate technical needs into requirements and RFQ packages.
Consolidate supplier roadmaps and influence them based on Magna needs.
Provide guidance on semiconductor technology within the automotive sector.
Collaborate with Component Development team, Purchasing, and Quality teams.
Provide feedback to supplier responses and assist in PPAP processes.
Fulfill the Technical Lead role within the Component Team after sourcing and participate in supplier meetings.
Coordinate team activities through PPAP and post-sourcing stages.
Assist platforms/applications teams in integrating components into Magna products.
Assist evaluating SREAs/PCNs and support global travel when required.
