Position Overview:

The Senior Compliance Systems Analyst supports compliance-related system and process initiatives by serving as the day-to-day subject matter resource for assigned regulatory areas. This role is responsible for evaluating regulatory requirements, conducting first-pass research and analysis, helping design how requirements should function within the loan origination system and related workflows, and supporting the implementation of compliance-related changes. This role serves as a compliance subject‑matter expert for designated LOS functionality, helping to establish, maintain, and continuously improve system behavior in alignment with regulatory requirements and internal policies. The Senior Compliance Systems Analyst operates at a level above pure testing execution by owning assigned workstreams, drafting and refining requirements, coordinating with stakeholders, and helping move changes from analysis through implementation and validation. This role partners closely with Legal, Technology, Operations, and Compliance leadership to ensure requirements are translated into practical, compliant business and system behavior.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary compliance subject matter resource for assigned regulatory areas (for example, TILA, RESPA, TRID, and the SAFE Act, among others) and act as the day-to-day owner of related analysis, requirements, testing support, and implementation activities.
  • Evaluate regulatory requirements, investor guidance, overlays, and internal policy expectations to determine how they should be reflected in loan origination system functionality, operational workflows, disclosures, documents, and related controls.
  • Conduct first-pass regulatory research and issue analysis, identify open questions or gray areas, and prepare work products for attorney or executive compliance review and sign-off.
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into clear business, system, and procedural requirements that Technology, Operations, and other stakeholders can understand and execute.
  • Help design how regulatory requirements should function within the loan origination system, including rules, fields, logic, workflows, outputs, and related operational impacts.
  • Own assigned compliance-related changes from initial analysis through implementation and validation.
  • Partner with Technology teams, project resources, and business stakeholders to support implementation of approved compliance-related changes and help resolve questions that arise during design, build, and testing.
  • Design and, when appropriate, execute test scenarios for assigned regulatory areas; review test results and defect findings; and identify gaps or issues requiring follow‑up testing, requirement clarification, or escalation.
  • Guide QA resources by clarifying expected behavior and refining test scenarios, while remaining directly involved in testing assigned regulatory areas to confirm that observed system behavior satisfies the underlying requirement.
  • Document requirements, interpretations, decisions, findings, and implementation outcomes in a clear and organized manner that supports audit, examination, and internal review needs.
  • Track open questions, exceptions, and dependencies related to assigned work and proactively follow through with stakeholders to keep items moving toward resolution.
  • Communicate clearly with Legal, Technology, Operations, and Compliance leadership regarding status, issues, risks, and recommendations for assigned initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes, requirements templates, testing approaches, or documentation practices to strengthen the overall compliance change process.
  • Serve as the ongoing compliance owner for assigned LOS functionality, helping ensure rules, workflows, disclosures, and documents remain aligned with current regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Evaluate questions or concerns regarding existing compliance logic raised by internal stakeholders and, as applicable, external lenders, and determine whether clarification, additional testing, or updates are needed.
  • Support continuous improvement of LOS compliance by identifying enhancement opportunities, updating requirements, and partnering with stakeholders to implement and validate changes over time.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combinations of education, training, professional certifications, and relevant experience.
  • Relevant education, training, certifications, or experience in compliance, mortgage operations, business analysis, legal support, quality assurance, or a related field.
  • Experience working with mortgage compliance requirements, investor guidelines, disclosures, loan documentation, and related operational processes.
  • Experience working in mortgage operations, including applying regulatory requirements within day‑to‑day workflows, systems, and operational processes, preferred.
  • Experience performing regulatory research, compliance analysis, requirements drafting, testing support, or implementation support within mortgage or financial services environments, preferred.
  • Experience with loan origination systems (LOS), Jira, testing documentation, requirements documentation, and related workflow management or tracking tools, preferred.
  • Comfortable collaborating across Compliance, Legal, Technology, Operations, and project teams to move work forward and resolve issues.
