Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a Compliance, Threat & Risk Assessment Manager to lead enterprise-wide risk assessments and partner with legal and compliance teams across Coinbase entities. The role focuses on AML/CFT, sanctions, and transaction monitoring, while advancing AI-enabled workflows.

You will produce executive summaries and governance materials for senior leadership and regulators, ensuring risk ratings remain current and actionable in a global, evolving crypto environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in compliance, financial crimes, or operational risk assessment within a regulated financial institution, fintech, or consulting firm.
• Proven ability to lead large-scale risk assessments and influence senior stakeholders in ambiguous environments.
• Deep expertise in AML/CFT, sanctions, transaction monitoring, customer risk scoring, and risk management frameworks.
• Experience designing threat assessment frameworks and leading geographic risk reviews across multi-entity environments.
• Strong written communication, data analysis, and governance material creation; proficient in Excel, SQL, and AI platforms.

Responsibilities

• Manage enterprise-wide compliance risk assessments, including identification of inherent risk, control evaluation, residual risk, and key findings.
• Partner with MLROs, CCOs, and cross-functional stakeholders to deliver globally coordinated risk outcomes.
• Produce risk assessment reports, executive summaries, and governance materials for senior leadership and regulatory audiences.
• Drive transaction monitoring and customer risk scoring coverage assessments and update geographic risk ratings.
• Develop a compliance threat assessment framework with governance, methodology, and documentation standards.
• Pioneer AI-powered automation to scale assessment workflows with human oversight.
