Job summary

CarMax is seeking a Sr. Advisor in Compliance Services to bolster operational regulatory compliance and internal controls across the organization. You will partner with risk owners and the legal team to design controls and lead testing efforts, influencing senior leadership with clear risk assessments.

You will develop SME knowledge in CAF and CarMax’s high-risk areas, guide change, and mentor junior staff while supporting training and reporting initiatives.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of compliance or audit experience (public accounting or large corporate internal audit/compliance) or 7+ years in lieu of a degree.
• Detailed knowledge of risk assessments, internal controls, root cause analysis, and compliance principles.
• Proven ability to work independently, build relationships, and communicate complex issues clearly.

Responsibilities

• Partner with operational leaders and legal to develop and maintain subject matter expertise on regulatory requirements and advise on process/control design.
• Plan and execute operational compliance testing and monitoring; identify risks and recommend improvements.
• Gather, review, and validate information and testing documentation to support risk coverage and external examinations.
