Western Alliance Bank is seeking a Compliance Consultant for a Contract to Hire arrangement to join our team. You will review information to ensure compliance with applicable policies and regulations and support the Compliance Management System across lines of defense.

You will interpret compliance data, monitor issue remediation, and communicate findings to management, while helping strengthen controls and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of related experience in Regulatory Compliance, Risk Management, Internal Audit or similar field.
• High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
• Ability to assess compliance with applicable federal and state statutes (TILA, RESPA, ECOA, FCRA, HPA, FDPA, etc.), program specific requirements (ARM, DSCR, Interest Only, HELOC/HEL), and regulatory requirements circulated by agencies including FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, USDA, and FRB, CFPB
• Intermediate knowledge of general mortgage lending compliance and operations, including issue management, regulatory change management, and document review activities applicable to residential retail and correspondent mortgage lending. Wholesale lending is a plus
• Intermediate knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
• Intermediate understanding of MS Office.
• Intermediate ability to foster and build relationships to achieve a common goal.
• Intermediate speaking and writing communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret and effectively communicate compliance management information, identify the root cause(s) of potential compliance risk, provide advice on addressing risk and strengthening controls, as well as provide periodic reports to management.
• Monitor the progress of compliance issues, analyze risk mitigation strategies and tactics, and validate effectiveness of corrective action plans by the line of business.
• Identify opportunities for improvement in the design and effectiveness of compliance controls as appropriate for first line business units, issue final reports and communicate results in writing to first line management or risk committees.
