Job summary

Celestica is seeking a Senior Certification & Compliance Engineer to embed with product teams from day one, ensuring modular data centers, power skids, and E-house systems meet global regulatory standards.

You will drive certification strategies, liaise with UL/Intertek/CSA, and lead testing programs across NEC, NFPA, and UL references, while coordinating with manufacturing for routine factory compliance testing.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of regulatory compliance, standards engineering, or design-focused product safety experience.
• Proven track record in certifying industrial power equipment, modular enclosures, grid-tied battery systems, or complex data center utility skids.
• Experience guiding a product through an initial NRTL listing campaign from architecture kick-off to certificate issuance.

Responsibilities

• Active Design Integration (Compliance-by-Design) with cross-functional teams.
• Embed with electrical, mechanical, and controls design engineers to guide layouts and component selection.
• Vet third-party components for appropriate listings and ratings.
• Ensure packaging designs respect NEC, NFPA, OSHA safety boundaries.
• Define and coordinate global product certification strategy.
• Act as primary technical contact with UL, Intertek, CSA.
• Structure and oversee physical testing programs (dielectric, short-circuit, thermal runaways).
• Author construction files and traceability matrices; maintain compliance documentation.
