Job summary

Brivo is seeking a Compliance Engineer to lead regulatory and safety certifications across a broad hardware portfolio. You will define market-access strategies, coordinate with global labs, and guide NRTL testing from concept through end-of-life.

You will manage CE, UKCA, and CB Scheme efforts, plus energy efficiency and environmental compliance programs. This role spans North America, LATAM, APAC, and EMEA with cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Physics, or related field (or equivalent experience).
• 7+ years of experience in product compliance, regulatory engineering, or product safety certification for hardware/electronics.
• Hands-on experience obtaining NRTL certifications (UL, MET, ETL, CSA, TÜV) and managing testing with third-party labs.
• Strong knowledge of global regulatory schemes including CE marking, FCC, ISED, and international market-access procedures.

Responsibilities

• Develop global compliance strategies, country-by-country certification matrices, budgets, and schedules for target markets.
• Lead safety certifications with NRTLs applying hazard-based safety engineering standards.
• Manage CE marking, UKCA, CB Scheme leverage, across global regions through local representatives and in-country testing where required.
• Coordinate emissions/immunity testing and global radio approvals for wireless modules.
• Direct substance and recycling compliance programs with supply chain and quality teams.
• Translate regulatory standards into actionable engineering requirements during early-stage product architecture.
