Job summary

Coinbase is seeking a senior technical leader to drive the direction of compliance data and control systems. You will design and deliver multi-year roadmaps, partnering with Product, Engineering, and Compliance to meet global regulatory obligations.

You will translate policy into testable technical controls, own operational health, and mentor analytics teams while balancing detection quality with efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience building data-intensive systems with governance controls.
• Proven track record leading complex technical initiatives.
• Strong background in compliance data systems and controls.
• Ability to influence across Product, Engineering, Compliance and Operations.
• Strong architectural judgment balancing policy and system reliability.

Responsibilities

• Set technical direction for compliance data and control systems across domain.
• Define multi-year roadmaps aligned with regulatory requirements and growth.
• Frame ambiguous problems and balance control, data quality, reliability and cost.
• Lead cross-functional programs across Product, Engineering, Compliance and Operations.
• Shape architectural decisions through design reviews, docs and reusable approaches.
• Translate regulatory requirements into testable technical controls with clear acceptance criteria.
• Own operational health of systems including monitoring, incidents, and remediation.
• Analyze detection outputs to improve signal quality and reduce non-actionable noise.
• Collaborate with ML/AI and Platform teams to enhance compliance capabilities.
• Mentor analytics and data practitioners through technical guidance and reviews.
