Job Description

AECOM is seeking a senior professional to serve as a Senior Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Compliance Auditor. Other titles for this position could include EHS Compliance Program Manager and Project Manager. The selected candidate will join AECOM’s EHS & Air practice within the Environment Business Line. The role will primarily focus on supporting clients by executing various EHS consulting services and EHS regulatory compliance audits. This position reports to our Atlanta, GA office or other offices in the northeast or mid-atlantic.

Responsibilities:

  1. Plan, participate, and lead various styles of audit programs.
  2. Conduct/lead supply chain due diligence/risk audits.
  3. Conduct/lead waste receiving facility audits.
  4. Conduct/lead process safety management and risk management program audits.
  5. Lead development of permitting and EHS compliance strategies for client project development.
  6. Coordinate and oversee execution of permitting tasks for client project development.
  7. Lead development of EHS regulatory registers and compliance matrices/calendars for clients.
  8. Coordinate for development and management of client EHS compliance programs for construction and operation of facilities.
  9. Coordinate and oversee execution of EHS compliance tasks for clients.
  10. Develop and deliver EHS training to clients.
  11. Provide detailed regulatory interpretation of EHS laws and regulations to clients and develop compliance strategies.
  12. Maintain and communicate knowledge of current and emerging USEPA, OSHA, and state EHS regulatory requirements.
  13. Develop effective business presentations and proposals for providing competitive, high-value EHS consulting services.
  14. After obtaining AECOM Project Management certification within the first six months, manage multiple complex projects within scope, budget, quality criteria, and schedule.
  15. Build and maintain effective client relationships.
  16. Grow existing business base through client outreach and professional relationships.
  17. Provide mentoring, guidance, and coaching to new or less-experienced staff.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BA/BS and 8+ years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
  2. Experience conducting EHS regulatory compliance audit fieldwork.
  3. Valid Driver’s License and must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.
  4. Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required.
  5. Ability to obtain US Government security clearances.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Excellent working knowledge of Federal, State, County/Regional, and Local EHS regulations and consensus standards.
  2. Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in engineering, physical sciences, safety, or related field.
  3. 10 years of EHS experience in a consulting, manufacturing, chemical, pharmaceutical, or refining industry.
  4. Experience in managing EHS programs, compliance audits, and compliance program evaluations.
  5. Experience planning and permitting projects for development/construction.
  6. Experience delivering EHS training to industrial clients.
  7. Professional certification - CPEA, PE, CSP, CIH, or other equivalent certification.
  8. Experience with CFATS, DOT, REACH, ISO/RC 14001, and ISO 45001.
  9. Experience conducting various styles of audits, including EHS compliance audits, supply chain due diligence audits, waste receiving facility audits, Process Safety Management/Risk Management Program audits.
  10. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  11. Proven leadership and management skills.
  12. Proven success in business development for EHS programs.

Additional Information

Sponsorship is not available for this position. Relocation is not available for this position. Ability to travel 50% to 80% is required. Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $100,000.00 - $150,000.00.
