Job summary

AIG is seeking a Complex Claims Director – TPA Oversight to lead high-exposure General Liability and Auto claims across our Illinois portfolio. You will drive strategy, oversight of TPAs, and escalation paths to ensure timely, cost-effective resolutions while maintaining regulatory and company standards.

You will mentor teams, coordinate with underwriters, and champion change initiatives leveraging tech to improve claims performance and outcomes for insureds and partners.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of General Liability/Auto claims experience.
• Experience with complex and high exposure GL BI and PD claims.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Advanced litigation claims management including ADR/mediation.
• Strong technical expertise interpreting insurance contracts.
• Knowledge of claim handling procedures and performance strategies.
• Ability to initiate and champion change using technology.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and process bodily injury and third-party property damage claims.
• Direct independent adjusters to gather information and control costs.
• Identify and evaluate coverage issues; prepare letters with supervision.
• Assess liability and maintain diaries; document analysis of coverage, damages, reserves.
• Coordinate vendor referrals for investigation and litigation management.
• Attend arbitrations, mediations, settlements, and trials.
• Ensure licensing and continuing education requirements are met.
• Communicate with underwriters and TPA governance to align on losses.
• Work with TPA Claims Financial to verify accuracy of financials.
