Job summary

Continental Casualty Company, a CNA subsidiary, seeks an experienced Senior Commercial Claims Manager to oversee the most complex multi-year claims with high loss exposure. You will manage investigations, coverage determinations, reserves and strategic resolutions with internal and external partners.

• Expert knowledge of commercial insurance industry, products, policy language, coverage, and claim practices.

• Extensive experience leading complex negotiations and resolution strategies.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to interpret policies and coordinate with internal/external resources.

Responsibilities

• Manages the most complex commercial claims, including coverage determinations, investigations, and resolution strategies.
• Drives continuous improvements in claim services, delivering timely, quality service and meeting cycle-time standards.
• Verifies coverage, sets reserves, and estimates potential claim valuation per protocol.
• Leads investigations to determine compensability, liability and damages.
• Develops and executes claim resolution strategies with partners, including settlements and approvals.
• Manages significant claim budgets and coordinates resources for timely resolution.
• Identifies subrogation, salvage opportunities; refers for further investigation.
• Manages each claim to quality standards with accurate documentation and timely payments.
• Prepares executive loss summaries and presents complex information to leadership and counsel.
• Stays current on regulatory requirements and industry trends; may represent CNA in industry events.
• Mentors and trains less experienced claim professionals; may assist on special projects.
