Job summary

Mercer is seeking a Principal consultant to lead delivery of large-scale compensation projects, coach teams, and advance business development. You will partner with HR executives to design and deliver compensation strategies that attract, retain, and motivate talent.

The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days per week in the office or with clients, and opportunities to leverage AI-enabled tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, HR, Finance, or related field.
• 8+ years of compensation consulting or HR advisory experience.
• Experience leading large-scale projects and client engagements.
• Deep knowledge of compensation strategy, analytics, and regulatory compliance.
• Strong client relationship management with executives.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and leadership skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Structure, direct, review, and interpret analyses performed by project teams.
• Develop compensation strategies, philosophies, and programs addressing attraction and retention.
• Advise senior management on pay strategy, job architecture, and digital activation of designs.
• Embrace AI and technology-enabled tools in compensation work.
• Manage day-to-day client interactions and build strong relationships.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior team members.
• Generate revenue by developing new client relationships and cross-selling opportunities.
