Harris County is seeking a Senior Compensation Analyst to lead the development and governance of the Salary Administration Guide, ensuring equitable pay practices across the organization.

The role directs complex compensation data analysis, benchmarking with public-sector peers, and collaboration with IT teams on county-wide pay initiatives. A CCP certification and 5 years of related experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a directly related field from an accredited college or university.
• Five (5) years of directly related work experience.
• Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the Harris County Salary Administration Guide, establishing compensation policies and governance standards.
• Lead compensation analysis to evaluate pay equity, market alignment, and classification accuracy; create complex reports and queries.
• Research internal and external salary survey data to determine market trends and competitive ranges with regional adjustments.
• Project manage compensation frameworks, including job architecture, career pathways, and pay equity initiatives for workforce planning.
• Serve as senior advisor to business units on compensation strategy, job evaluations, reclassifications, and salary recommendations.
• Audit and validate compensation data to ensure budgets and salaries align with approved ranges and compliance requirements.
• Lead IT-project collaboration for county-wide pay initiatives and periodics updates; coordinate data uploads and testing.
• Mentor other analysts in surveys and benchmarking with public-sector peers.

Education
