Job summary

FirstEnergy is seeking a Compensation Representative to support base pay and incentive design within Corporate Human Resources. The role partners with business units to attract and retain talent and delivers market-competitive total rewards in line with pay-for-performance philosophy.

The position reports to the Manager, Employee Compensation and requires strong analytical skills, data handling, and coordination with leadership to implement compensation programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or related discipline preferred with minimum 4 years relevant work experience.
• In lieu of a bachelor’s degree, 7 years relevant work experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Oracle experience preferred.
• Ability to analyze large quantities of data.

Responsibilities

• Assist with implementation and administration of non-bargaining compensation programs, policies, and guidelines, including the annual base pay review and benchmarking.
• Review and make compensation recommendations on internal and external offers.
• Analyze compensation surveys to determine trends and ensure competitive positions and internal equity.
• Consult with leaders on compensation practices and processes.
• Provide project management and analytical support on key compensation projects.
• Drive educational and communication efforts related to compensation programs and practices.
• Compile reports and statistics for FirstEnergy's compensation programs and initiatives.
• Understand regulatory requirements related to compensation (FLSA, EPA, etc.).
• Remain knowledgeable of compensation trends and recommend improvements.
• Perform moderately complex reporting with in-depth analyses for data-driven recommendations.
• Recommend and implement solutions to more complex compensation issues.
