Job summary

Avanta Care Home Care - Atlanta is seeking compassionate companions to support seniors with daily tasks and social engagement. You will provide companionship, assist with personal care, light housekeeping, meal planning, and transportation to appointments, delivering reliable and empathetic home care.

The role emphasizes dignity, respect, adaptability, and the ability to work with clients who may have dementia. Training and ongoing support will be provided to caregivers.

Qualifications

• Candidate must treat clients with dignity and respect.
• Ability to interpret the provided plan of care.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and have transportation.
• Be flexible and adapt to new situations.
• Tolerant of small pets (dogs/cats).
• Must be reachable by phone or email for shifts and emergencies.
• Able to lift at least 25 lbs.
• Prior experience with dementia or senior care is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide companionship and conversation.
• Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, feeding).
• Perform light housekeeping (laundry, linen changing).
• Lay out clothes and assist with dressing.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Provide medication reminders.
• Arrange transportation to appointments.
• Assist families with safe care techniques.
