Job summary
Avanta Care Home Care - Atlanta is seeking compassionate caregivers to learn and grow within the senior care industry. As a Companion Caregiver, you will provide companionship, assist with personal care, and support families in daily routines.
You will help with light housekeeping, meal planning, and transportation to appointments, while monitoring medications and staying flexible to client needs. Prior experience with dementia is a plus; training and ongoing support are offered.
Qualifications
- Must treat clients with dignity and respect.
- Able to interpret the client's care plan.
- Valid driver’s license and own transportation.
- Flexible and adaptable to new situations.
- Tolerant of small pets (dogs/cats).
- Reachable by phone or email for scheduling and emergencies.
- Able to lift at least 25 lbs.
- Prior experience with dementia or senior care is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Provide companionship and conversation.
- Assist with personal care tasks (bathing, grooming, dressing, bathroom needs, feeding).
- Perform light housekeeping (laundry, linen changes).
- Lay out clothes and assist with dressing.
- Plan and prepare meals.
- Provide medication reminders.
- Escort to appointments.
- Support families in learning safe care techniques.
