Job summary

The NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities seeks a skilled nurse leader to clinically supervise a cluster of nurses across multiple sites. The role may function as an RN1 when needed, overseeing nursing case management and supervising RNs and LPNs who supervise Direct Support Assistants.

Qualifications

• Licensed and registered RN in New York State with two years post-licensure clinical nursing experience.
• One year direct services experience with mental illness, developmental disabilities, addiction, or substance use disorders in a community setting.
• Bachelor's degree substitution rights and master's degree substitution rights apply.

Responsibilities

• Oversee nursing case management across multiple locations based on medical acuity.
• Supervise RNs and LPNs who supervise AMAP staff in providing Direct Support Assistants health care.
• Ensure timely medical follow-up and staff development through in-service training.
• Complete nursing audits, evaluate findings, and implement corrective actions.
• Mentor new RNs and LPNs; participate in nursing discipline meetings and training.
