Premier Property Management is seeking an experienced Community Manager to lead operations at a multi-phase affordable housing community in Michigan. You will oversee leasing, maintenance, and administrative staff, ensuring regulatory compliance and strong resident relations.

The role requires hands-on leadership, the ability to walk the property for extended periods, and a focus on service quality. Experience with HUD programs and Yardi is essential for success.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of verifiable Community Manager experience in affordable housing.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, and Public Housing (PHA) programs.
• Previous supervisory and team leadership experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of affordable housing regulations, compliance requirements, and property operations.
• Experience using Yardi property management software is required.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee all day-to-day operations of a large affordable housing community.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop leasing, maintenance, and administrative staff.
• Ensure compliance with HUD, Section 8, LIHTC, Public Housing (PHA) regulations.
• Oversee leasing activities, occupancy goals, and resident retention initiatives.
• Manage rent collections, delinquency reporting, and resident accounts.
• Review certifications, recertifications, and compliance documentation for accuracy.
• Prepare weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual operational reports.
• Monitor property budgets, expenses, and financial performance; coordinate contractors and capital projects.
• Conduct regular inspections to maintain curb appeal and physical condition.
• Resolve resident concerns promptly and professionally.
• Build relationships with ownership, regulatory agencies, vendors, and community partners.
• Utilize Yardi for leasing, reporting, accounting, and compliance functions.
