Job summary

Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community seeks a Senior Community Development Director to lead the Department’s operations, staffing, and strategic direction. You will oversee programs, budgets, and compliance, reporting to the Community Development Director and acting in their absence.

The role requires experience in public administration within tribal government, strong leadership, and the ability to develop policies and guide staff through complex regulatory environments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in public relations, public administration, business, management, real estate or closely related field.
• Minimum of eight (8) years of administrative and supervisory experience.
• Master’s degree substitutes for two years of experience.
• Equivalency of education/experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Direct and oversee programs, projects, and services for the Community.
• Review development projects, leases, and environmental services for compliance.
• Monitor program execution within budget and schedule; include public comment processes.
• Provide managerial oversight and support to assigned managers and supervisors.
• Act as the Zoning Official for SRPMIC and respond to community inquiries.
