Job summary

Invenergy, headquartered in Chicago, seeks a Senior Associate, Community Affairs to lead local outreach and serve as the main contact for county and municipal officials, chambers, and economic development organizations across development and operational regions.

The role requires 5+ years in related fields, strong stakeholder engagement, and willingness to travel; hybrid work with in-office and remote Fridays as applicable.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree required.
• 5+ years of experience in related fields such as infrastructure or public affairs.
• Travel more than 50% with valid driver’s license.
• Eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship now or in the future.
• Experience with local political and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

• Lead local outreach and primary contact for county/municipal officials and other stakeholders.
• Represent projects and Invenergy in meetings with officials and local bodies.
• Communicate benefits of projects to host communities.
• Support Development team through county/municipal approval processes.
• Develop and implement structured community relations programs.
• Collaborate with Communications and Impact teams to align priorities.
• Communicate with internal and external audiences about Invenergy’s presence and updates.
• Monitor local project opposition and build relationships with community members.
• Coordinate with counties and government groups; support outreach to officials.
• Summarize statistics on project benefits for external stakeholders.
• Maintain relationships across projects, technologies, and geographies.
• Coordinate with Asset Management, Operations, and Development teams.
