Job summary

UIL HOLDINGS CORPORATION in Orange, CT is seeking a Manager of Communications to lead strategic communications for UI, CNG, SCG and Berkshire Gas. You will oversee media relations, crisis communications, executive messaging, and stakeholder engagement across the Connecticut utilities, reporting to the Senior Director - Communications.

The role collaborates with Operations, Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Customer Service and Brand teams to ensure alignment with Avangrid’s enterprise priorities and

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field and at least eight years of relevant experience.
• Experience creating and editing corporate and financial communications, including press releases and crisis scripts.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, writing, editing and project management skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive communications strategies across UI, CNG, SCG and Berkshire Gas.
• Provide strategic counsel to senior leadership and manage stakeholder engagement.
• Lead media relations, crisis communications and executive communications.
• Coordinate with Government and Regulatory Affairs, Legal, Customer Service, Operations and Brand teams.
• Serve as authorized spokesperson and lead communications during emergencies.
