Job summary

Metropolitan Government of Nashville & Davidson County seeks a Communications & Engagement Senior Coordinator to support CHYM by producing public materials, managing digital content, and coordinating meetings and events. The role ensures consistent messaging while collaborating with residents, partners, and the public in diverse settings.

The position reports to both the Communications Director and Community Engagement Director, with priorities set jointly.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with three years of experience in communications, public engagement, public relations, community relations, or public administration.
• Equivalent experience in related fields may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Develop, schedule, and monitor social media content across platforms with consistent voice and branding.
• Update website with project information, milestones, and event details.
• Draft, edit, proofread, and format remarks, talking points, newsletters, and FAQs.
• Support speaking engagements, conferences, and award submissions through materials and logistics.
• Monitor news and community information; prepare summaries to support planning and outreach.
• Maintain stakeholder records, RSVPs, attendance tracking, and feedback documentation.
• Assist with planning advisory groups, neighborhood programs, listening sessions, and events.
• Prepare agendas, briefing materials, and notes; coordinate follow-up communications.
• Track requests and deliverables across multiple projects; maintain schedules.
