Job summary

Siemens is seeking a Sr. Commodity Manager based in Wendell, NC to lead strategic sourcing across multiple manufacturing locations, driving cost competitiveness, supply continuity, and operational excellence with partnerships across Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and Finance.

You’ll develop and execute sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, qualify and onboard suppliers, lead RFQs and negotiations, and build alternate sourcing plans to mitigate risk and support growth.

Qualifications

• Higher degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• 8+ years of strategic sourcing, commodity management, or procurement experience in manufacturing.
• Proven experience leading RFQs, supplier selection, contract negotiations, and supplier performance programs.
• Strong analytical, negotiation, project management, and cross-functional leadership skills.
• Proficiency with Excel, PowerPoint, ERP systems, and eSourcing tools.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship and willing to travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Develop sourcing strategies for assigned commodities, driving cost savings and supply resilience.
• Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers and benchmark capabilities.
• Lead RFQs, supplier negotiations, tooling programs, and capacity planning.
• Build alternate sourcing strategies to support growth and continuity.
• Partner with Engineering, Operations, Quality, and Finance to align sourcing with business objectives.
• Drive supplier productivity, continuous improvement, cost transparency, and performance management.
