Job summary

PACCAR is seeking a Senior Commodity Manager in Lewisville, TX to lead sourcing and supplier management for the Composites & Trim portfolio. You will manage long-term agreements, negotiate terms, and drive cost-reduction initiatives across global suppliers.

This role supports PACCAR’s corporate offices in Lewisville, with travel to supplier locations as needed. The ideal candidate has 7+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, and contract negotiations, plus strong Excel skills and

Qualifications

• 7+ years of business experience required.
• Minimum of 5 years of sourcing, engineering, logistics or related experience.
• Ability to effectively communicate verbally and in written form to various levels of management and suppliers.
• Possess a good understanding of fundamental contract terms and be able to draft supply contracts.
• Possess an understanding of cost drivers and how changes in those drivers affect cost.
• Ability to conduct market research to identify and evaluate potential new suppliers.
• Experienced negotiator with demonstrated favorable results.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities as well as PC skills (Word, Access & PowerPoint)
• Project Team participation and/or Project Management experience a plus
• Experience with part-purchasing, design, manufacturing, supply chain management and/or commercial truck or automotive experience a plus

Responsibilities

• Manage sourcing and supplier management for the Composites & Trim commodity portfolio, including cab suspension, lighting, mirrors, battery cables, valves, and thermoformed/blow-molded components, with accountability for annual cost-reduction goals and supplier contractual productivity commitments.
• Manage Long-Term Agreement negotiations and renewals, price-change and surcharge approvals, RPI/RFQ responses, and Supplier Performance Management (SPM) improvement plans for the assigned supplier base.
• Lead supplier resourcing and transition projects, including supplier readiness reviews, tariff-mitigation and plant-relocation efforts, and cross-functional launch coordination to protect production continuity.
• Develop, negotiate, and implement strategies resulting in improved supply chain performance and enhanced product quality.
• Investigate, evaluate, and implement new technologies, strategic procurement strategies, and logistical opportunities.
• Negotiate and assure supplier compliance with long-term supply and warranty agreements.
• Issue formal Requests for Information, Proposals and Quotes (RFI’s, RFPs, and RFQ’s) and analyze responses to make sound commercial judgments and sourcing recommendations.
• Collaborate with PACCAR operations worldwide to successfully develop and execute global supply chain and commodity strategies.
• Communicate and conduct meetings and formal presentations with suppliers, plant, and division personnel at all management levels.
• Travel to supplier locations to evaluate capabilities, assess production readiness, investigate new opportunities, improve manufacturing efficiencies, and resolve chronic supply and quality issues.
• Travel to PACCAR’s operating locations in support of the above activities.
• Other responsibilities as assigned.
