Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of sourcing experience with category strategy development and execution.
  • CPM designation preferred.
  • Experience sourcing within Marketing, IT, and/or Logistics categories preferred.
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze price, market trends, and lead times for stakeholders and finance.
  • Perform spend analytics and create opportunity matrices for assigned categories.

  • Conduct supplier visits/evaluations and recommend improvements.
  • Procure goods and services and resolve lead time, delivery, quality, and pricing issues.
  • Maintain item master, open orders reports, and price variance reports.
  • Provide support to other Buyers as needed.

Job description

A Senior Commodity Manager job in Woodinville, WA is available at Ste. Michelle Wine Estates (SMWE). This role is responsible for managing Indirect spend categories-including Marketing, IT, and Logistics-through effective category strategy development, alignment, and execution. The Senior Commodity Manager serves as a strategic partner to internal stakeholders, ensuring business unit and enterprise-wide objectives are achieved. This role leads the development, negotiation, execution, and ongoing administration of supplier contracts, while ensuring full adherence to SMWE policies and procedures.

Senior. Commodity Manager job responsibilities include:
  • Develop category strategies based on internal and external analysis, including cost/process impacts. Align and execute category strategy. Provide analysis of price and market trends and lead time updates for stakeholders and finance.
  • Complete spend analytics and develop opportunity matrix for assigned commodity areas. Gain alignment to meet annual cost forecasting and savings objectives.
  • Responsible for the negotiation, execution and administration of contracts and purchase orders for materials based on assigned commodities.
  • Develop effective internal and supplier relationships/partnerships to drive business results.
  • Manage multiple project timelines effectively.
  • Conduct supplier visits/evaluations to determine suitability and to make recommendations for improvement.
  • Procurement of goods and services in support of company needs. Identify, communicate, and resolve lead time, delivery, quality, and pricing issues.
  • Accurate and timely maintenance of item master, monthly open orders report, and purchase price variance reports as needed.
  • Provide support to other Buyers as needed.
Position Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of sourcing experience, including category strategy development and execution, RFI/RFQ management, contract negotiation, and procurement compliance.
  • Certified Purchasing Manager (C.P.M.) designation preferred.
  • Experience sourcing within Marketing, IT, and/or Logistics categories preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and quality control processes is a plus.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers.
  • Team-oriented with strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Ability to lift up to 20 pounds.
  • Ability to remain seated for extended periods and perform significant computer-based work.
  • History of responsible use of alcohol and other appropriate conduct, as well as fitness to be licensed, permitted, and/or certified by state and/or local regulatory bodies.
Your Compensation:

$83,374.00 - $108,319.00 per year based upon relevant experience.
