Job summary

BorgWarner Arden campus in Western North Carolina seeks a Buyer to manage supplier relationships, planning and execution for turbocharger components. You will coordinate with internal teams and external suppliers to meet cost, quality and delivery targets in an automotive manufacturing environment.

This role requires a 4-year degree, experience in purchasing, and strong negotiation, program management and communication skills.

Qualifications

• 4-year degree required; engineering, supply chain or technical degree preferred.
• 1-3 years of project management experience.
• 3-5 years of purchasing experience in automotive/manufacturing.
• Demonstrated analytical skills.
• Experience working in cross-functional teams.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project).
• Strong negotiation skills and ability to influence across functions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead cross-functional teams to implement value creation projects for Asheville Operations.
• Initiate, direct, coordinate projects ensuring alignment with commodity strategies.
• Provide program management for supply chain projects with cost containment and stakeholder communications.
• Lead regular reviews with cross-functional teams to drive actions and execution.
• Drive YOY cost reductions and negotiate long-term supplier agreements.
• Develop supplier relationships and ensure alignment with quality, cost and delivery objectives.
• Support internal manufacturing teams on commercial issues and participate in purchasing councils.
