Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a certified Commissioning Agent to lead HVAC commissioning projects from design review through owner turnover, with heavy on-site engagement and 50% travel. You will review designs, sign off on tests, and mentor field technicians to ensure quality and client satisfaction.

Ideal candidates have CCP/CxA/BCxP credentials, 7+ years in commissioning HVAC systems, and strong communication skills to coordinate with owners, designers, and contractors.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience commissioning HVAC, refrigeration, or other electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC and refrigeration components, including RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV, and controls.
• Comfortable working onsite with up to 50% overnight travel.
• Ability to perform design reviews and read construction documents/specifications.
• Strong technical writing and client communication skills.
• Certified CCP, CxA, or BCxP certification.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook; experience with PDF markup tools (Bluebeam).

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning efforts for HVAC, refrigeration, and related systems from design review through owner turnover.
• Perform design reviews and review shop drawings to confirm conformance to Owner's Project Requirements and Basis of Design.
• Review commissioning documentation, functional test forms, and field reports for accuracy before final sign-off.
• Execute and document functional performance testing on complex systems using data loggers and measurement tools.
• Consult with owners, designers, and contractors to resolve issues and ensure project requirements.
• Communicate findings and recommendations through clear, data-driven reports for diverse audiences.
• Mentor commissioning technicians and contribute to team quality standards and checklists.
• Deliver final commissioning reports and represent Cushing Terrell in meetings.
