Job summary

Cushing Terrell is seeking a Commissioning Agent to lead HVAC commissioning across healthcare, commercial, and education projects. The role is full-time and on-site in Boise, Idaho, with up to 50% travel. You will mentor technicians, review designs, and sign off on functional tests to ensure project requirements are met.

Ideal candidates have 7+ years of commissioning experience, strong HVAC knowledge, and applicable certifications. Growth toward leading a team is expected within a year.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience commissioning HVAC, refrigeration, or other electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of HVAC components (RTUs, chillers, boilers, VAV, controls).
• Onsite work with up to 50% travel; multi-day site work common.
• Ability to perform design reviews and read construction docs/specs.
• Strong writing and client communication skills.
• Certifications: CCP, CxA, or BCxP preferred.
• Proficient with Excel, Word, Outlook; Bluebeam or PDF tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning efforts from design through owner turnover.
• Perform design reviews and verify systems meet OPR and Basis of Design.
• Sign off on functional tests and field reports.
• Document testing with data loggers and tools; verify control sequences.
