Job summary

MOHR Talent in San Francisco, CA seeks a Senior Commissioning Engineer / Commissioning Project Manager to blend hands-on commissioning with project leadership across multiple projects. You’ll guide design through turnover, coordinate with owners and teams, and ensure systems meet performance goals.

The role emphasizes BAS/BMS know-how, HVAC/system testing, and client-facing leadership, with a hybrid schedule (2–3 onsite days). Base salary is $140,000–$160,000 and a full benefits package.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant experience as a Commissioning Engineer, MEP Consultant, Design Engineer, or similar building-systems professional.
• Demonstrated commissioning experience is required.
• Experience with BAS/BMS and building controls.
• Knowledge of California Energy Code / Title 24 and ASHRAE guidelines is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead commissioning activities throughout the complete project lifecycle.
• Participate in commissioning during the design, construction, testing, turnover, and post-occupancy phases.
• Review design documents and provide commissioning-related feedback.
• Perform construction-site observations and verify installation and system readiness.
• Develop commissioning plans, procedures, and testing requirements.
• Write detailed functional performance test scripts.
• Perform and lead functional and system testing.
• Coordinate with contractors and project stakeholders to resolve deficiencies.
• Maintain commissioning documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
