Overview
Senior Commissioning Engineer position in our Austin, TX office. You will help empower clients to achieve energy-efficient building solutions and contribute to a greener future through effective commissioning activities.
Responsibilities
- Carry out activities related to project construction and contract administration, including developing and coordinating system test procedures, organizing user training sessions, administering functional performance tests, conducting field observations, attending progress meetings, and assisting in document control.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering (or another engineering discipline) from an accredited program.
- Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process or lighting systems.
- Understanding of applicable codes, standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
- Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
- Proficient in application of applicable technologies including computer/software, data loggers, test and measurement equipment.
- Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states or minimum of 10 years in a commissioning related practice.
- Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body.
- Valid driver's license and state required vehicle insurance.

- General understanding of the resources required to complete specific types of projects.
- Ability to anticipate commissioning work, and to delegate and balance work for others.
- Experience in combining judgment and a broad perspective to positively affect the commissioning process.
- Ability to work well in a team, mentor others, delegate work, and give/receive constructive feedback.
- Strong communication with clients, project partners, and individuals at all levels of the organization.
- Ability to access and interpret design and contract instruments including BIM models.
- Ability to apply safety training to construction situations and maintain safe work environments.
- Ability to use and instruct others in the safe use of test and measurement equipment and tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Quick technical comprehension and focus on client outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work both independently and in a team.
