As a Senior Commissioning Agent in our Washington, DC office, you will help us empower our clients to achieve energy‑efficient building solutions, save global environments, and create a better, greener future for all.
Why We Need You
- Carry out activities related to project construction and contract administration including developing and coordinating system test procedures, organizing user training sessions, administering functional performance tests, conducting field observations, attending progress meetings, and assisting in document control.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering (or other engineering discipline) from an accredited program.
- 10 years’ experience and functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process or lighting systems.
- Understanding of applicable codes, standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
- Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes and 10 years of commissioning process delivery experience.
- Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
- Proficient in application of applicable technologies including computer/software, data loggers, test and measurement equipment.
- Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states or minimum of 10 years in a commissioning related practice.
- Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body.
- Valid driver’s license and state required vehicle insurance.

- General understanding of the resources required to complete specific types of projects.
- Ability to anticipate commissioning work, delegate and balance work for others.
- Experience in combining personal judgment and a broad perspective to make decisions that positively affect the overall commissioning process.
- Ability to work well in a team environment, including carrying out appropriate follow‑through with others, mentoring, delegating work, and giving and receiving constructive feedback.
- Communicates well with clients, project partners and with individuals at all levels in the organization.
- Ability to access and interpret all types of design and contract instruments including BIM models.
- Ability to apply safety training to specific construction situations and avoid unsafe work environments.
- Ability to use and instruct others in the safe use of test and measurement equipment and common tools.
- Strong spoken and written communications skills.
- Excellent organization and time management skills.
- Quick technical comprehension and motivation focused on client outcomes.
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Effective working individually and within team environments.

The estimated starting salary range for this position: $115,000 - $180,000.
