Job summary

Affiliated Engineers, Inc. (AEI) seeks a Senior Commissioning Engineer for our San Francisco office to help clients achieve energy-efficient building solutions and contribute to a greener future.

You will develop test procedures, organize user training sessions, perform functional tests, and coordinate field observations while collaborating with design teams on diverse projects.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical, electrical, or architectural engineering from an accredited program.
  • Functional knowledge of building systems across disciplines including fire protection, HVAC, plumbing/piping, electrical, technology, instrumentation and controls, process or lighting systems.
  • Understanding of applicable codes, standards and specification requirements, and ability to interpret them.
  • Extensive knowledge of commissioning processes and commissioning process delivery.
  • Fundamental knowledge of construction processes and project delivery models.
  • Proficient in application of applicable technologies including computer/software, data loggers, test and measurement equipment.
  • Professional Engineering license (PE) in one or more states or minimum of 10 years in a commissioning related practice.
  • Commissioning certification with a nationally recognized professional body.
  • Valid driver's license and state required vehicle insurance.

Responsibilities

In this role, you will carry out activities related to project construction and contract administration, including:

  • Developing and coordinating system test procedures
  • Organizing user training sessions
  • Administering functional performance tests

  • Strong spoken and written communication skills; excellent organization and time management.
  • Quick technical comprehension with a client-outcomes focus.
  • Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and work both independently and in a team.

Estimated Starting Salary Range: $120,000 to $170,000
