Job summary

Horan Hiring Solutions, LLC is assisting a national leader in commercial title and escrow services in seeking a Commercial Underwriting Counsel. This hybrid role in Tampa requires a CRE attorney with 5–7 years of title underwriting experience who can guide underwriting decisions and transactions while maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations.

The ideal candidate will have a Florida bar admission (or state of residence if remote), strong communication, and a client-focused

Qualifications

• J.D. from ABA-accredited law school required.
• Active Bar Admission in Florida or state of residence if remote, in good standing.
• 5–7 years of substantive experience in title insurance underwriting or similar CRE experience in a law firm.

Responsibilities

• Provide underwriting guidance and counsel on issuance of title commitments and policies.
• Interpret and apply underwriting standards within delegated authority.
• Advise colleagues on real estate settlement procedures and requirements.
• Support resolution of title issues and guide transaction strategy.
• Communicate underwriting decisions to internal teams and external partners.
• Ensure compliance with company guidelines and regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to internal knowledge sharing and process improvement.
