Job summary

Bank of America is seeking an experienced Underwriter to assess credit exposure for a middle-market loan portfolio in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will partner with Relationship Management and product teams to structure debt solutions and ensure prudent risk parameters are met.

Responsibilities include building detailed cash flow models, performing due diligence, and preparing credit packages for approval.

Qualifications

• BA/BS degree required.
• 3 to 10 years of Commercial Banking underwriting experience.
• Proficiency in accounting principles, financial statement analysis and financial modeling.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Unwavering attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Partner with credit teammates, relationship management and product teams to develop strategic debt financing solutions.
• Employ credit and accounting knowledge to structure bilateral and syndicated loans aligned with client needs and bank risk parameters.
• Analyze ancillary credit exposure for treasury, rates and foreign exchange products.
• Perform due diligence and dynamic risk assessments of borrowers, industries and transactions.
• Create credit approval packages and own the credit approval process from initiation through final decision.
• Construct detailed financial cash flow and repayment models, including sensitivity analyses.
• Complete enterprise value (discounted cash flow), pricing, returns and risk rating models.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory and internal policies and procedures.
• Exercise approval authority for certain credit actions.
• Present well supported opportunities to credit and risk leadership.
• Partner with internal and external legal partners to complete loan documentation.
• Oversee quarterly monitoring exercises and requirements.
