Job summary

One80 Intermediaries is seeking a Senior Commercial Transportation Underwriter to join our growing team. This role reports to the VP of Transportation and conducts risk selection and pricing on endorsements, renewals, and new business within established guidelines.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of transportation underwriting experience, deep P&C knowledge, and a proven ability to work remotely while collaborating with brokers and agents to meet underwriting goals.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of transportation underwriting experience in a multi-state environment.
• Strong technical P&C underwriting knowledge with focus on Commercial Auto.
• Advanced knowledge of ISO commercial class codes and CLM rules.
• Excellent communication with brokers and agents; ability to price and issue accurately.

Responsibilities

• Assess and price endorsements, renewals, and new business per guidelines.
• Provide prompt, courteous customer service to brokers and agents.
• Ensure timely preparation and issuance of policies; delegate tasks when needed.
• Communicate underwriting standards and requirements clearly to partners.
• Order/review inspection reports to verify risk quality and exposure base.
• Manage relationships with assigned brokers and agents to meet goals.
