Job summary

NextEra Energy Resources, one of America’s leading energy providers, seeks an experienced commercial transactions attorney to support complex agreements across gas-fired generation, data center, and nuclear development projects. This role sits onsite in Juno Beach, FL or Houston, TX and requires strong drafting, negotiation, and client service skills.

You will draft and negotiate PPAs, tolling, JV, development, and sale agreements, advise on risk, budget, and strategic issues, and collaborate

Qualifications

• Member in Good Standing of State Bar.
• Juris Doctorate required.
• 5+ years experience in commercial transactions law.
• Experience drafting and negotiating PPAs, tolling agreements, JV agreements, and related commercial contracts.

Responsibilities

• Provides written and oral legal advice to clients.
• Anticipates and guards against legal risks involving the organization.
• Works to ensure budget compliance and avoids the need for outside counsel.
• Ensures disclosure of potentially material legal issues to senior leadership.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
