Job summary

Alliance Exterior Construction in Baltimore, MD is seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Roofing Estimator to join our preconstruction team. You will analyze plans and specs to prepare accurate, competitive cost estimates for roofing projects and support bid preparation.

This role reports to the Director of Estimating. The ideal candidate has 3+ years of roofing/estimating experience, proficiency with Bluebeam, Edge and Excel, and strong analytical and communication skills to collaborate with

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in commercial roofing or building envelope estimating.
• Proficient with estimating software such as Bluebeam, Edge, and Excel.
• Strong reading of construction documents and specs.
• Excellent written and verbal communication.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Review drawings, specs, and documents to prepare comprehensive estimates.
• Perform quantity take-offs of roof systems and components.
• Solicit and evaluate vendor/supplier quotes for materials and subcontracted work.
• Calculate labor and equipment costs considering project scope and location.
• Prepare bid proposals and submit estimates by deadlines.
• Collaborate with project managers, architects, and contractors to align scope.
• Maintain estimating databases and historical cost data.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits when required.
• Assist in value engineering and alternative material suggestions.
