Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years of experience handling commercial property claims.
• Multi-line adjusters with related experience encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

• Investigates and maintains property claims, including those medium to significant in exposure or complexity.
• Works toward the resolution of claims files, and attends arbitrations, mediations, depositions or trials as necessary.
• Establishes reserves and negotiates settlements within prescribed limits and submits recommendations to supervisor on cases exceeding personal authority.
• Conveys morecomplex information to all appropriate parties, maintaining a professional demeanor in all situations.
• Ensures that claims payments are issued in a timely and accurate manner.
• Ensures that claims handling is conducted in compliance with applicable statutes, regulations and other legal requirements, and that all applicable company procedures and policies are followed.
• Interacts with underwriting and marketing regarding claims trend issues.
• May provide technical guidance to less experienced adjusters and other functional areas (mentors, delegates and reviews assignments).
• Participate in claims projects or project components as needed.
• Other duties as needed.
