Olmsted County seeks experienced assessors to appraise commercial, industrial and multi-family properties for tax assessment. You will perform field inspections, analyze sales data, respond to taxpayers and mentor other appraisers.

Required licensure or progress toward CMA-IQ/AMA, with a plan to achieve AMA within two years; SAMA or other designations are a plus. This role supports a collaborative county framework and engages with boards and the Tax Court.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, real estate or related field and three years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
• Combination of education and experience equivalent to seven years of experience in a similar position as listed in the work functions.
• Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position.
• Licensure by the Minnesota State Board of Assessors as CMA-IQ or CG Real Property Appraiser upon employment.
• Must achieve licensure as AMA within two years hire.
• Desirable: SAMA from the Minnesota State Board of Assessors.
• IAAO designations (CAE, CMS, PPS, RES) or MAI/SRA/RM from Appraisal Institute.

Responsabilités

• Appraises commercial, industrial, multi-family and special use properties for tax assessment.
• Performs field inspections and analyzes sales data to determine property values.
• Represents the County at appeals boards and Tax Court.
• Guides and reviews work of other appraisers.
• Maintains records of complex properties and prepares related documentation.
• Oversees appeal processes and testifies in Tax Court.
